DRYSDALE PRIMARY SCHOOL
Sport
With generous space to run, move, and play, our physical education program at Drysdale Primary School is thoughtfully designed to build a strong foundation of fundamental motor skills essential for all sports and games.
The program emphasises teamwork, participation, and skill development from the early years, where students engage in fun, focused activities that nurture coordination, balance, and movement.
As students progress through the middle and upper years, these foundational skills are applied to a range of key sports, with lessons that include learning the rules and strategies of both team and individual pursuits. This structured approach ensures students not only develop physical competence but also gain an understanding of sportsmanship and fair play.
Students from all year levels participate enthusiastically in our whole school athletics events, fostering school spirit and healthy competition. Additionally, students in years 3 to 6 have the opportunity to represent Drysdale Primary in inter-school sports competitions at the division, district, regional, and state levels.
A standout feature of our school is the school hall – our very own gymnasium equipped with facilities for basketball, netball, volleyball, and badminton. This dedicated space allows students to practice and play in a safe, supportive environment, enriching their physical education experience.
