Foundation (Prep) Enrolment 2027

The Department of Education has introduced a statewide Foundation (Prep) enrolment timeline for all Victorian government primary schools, including Drysdale Primary School. This timeline helps guide families through when and how to enrol their child into Foundation (Prep).

Please note: Drysdale Primary School does not require the application form included in the Department’s information pack.

From the start of Term 2 (20th April) we will be accepting enrolments for 2027 for children residing within our school zone. You can check your zoned school at Find My School.

Foundation Transition Program

To help your child feel confident and excited about starting school, we offer a comprehensive transition program beginning early in Term 4.

Our transition sessions are designed to:

• Introduce students to other Foundation students as well as our Foundation teaching staff. 
• Explore the Foundation classrooms and specialist rooms
• Help them become familiar with school routines and spaces

Following a gradual release approach, the early sessions are shorter with a gentle shift toward students attending for longer sessions as their confidence grows.

During the transition program, we invite families to attend a Parent and Carer Information Session, where we’ll walk you through everything you need to know to prepare for your child’s first days, weeks, and months at school.
