At Drysdale Primary School, our debating program and team are a source of great pride. Led by Mrs Croxford, who dedicates significant time and effort to ensure our students are thoroughly prepared for each debate. Through this program, students develop invaluable skills in confidence, critical thinking, and articulating their ideas clearly – skills that will benefit them throughout their lives.
Senior students have the opportunity to participate in debating and can choose to compete in the Regional Debating Competition, where they go head-to-head with schools from across the Geelong area. This exciting competition takes place outside of school hours and offers a challenging and rewarding experience for our young debaters.
Our debating program fosters a love of learning, sharpens communication skills, and encourages respectful discussion – preparing students to be confident voices both inside and beyond the classroom.
