At Drysdale Primary School, we offer an engaging and immersive Indonesian language program for all students from Prep through to Grade 6. This is part of our strong commitment to broadening students’ cultural horizons and fostering global citizenship.

Our Language Other Than English (LOTE) program gives students a fantastic opportunity to develop essential communication skills in Indonesian. Through creative lessons that blend language with arts and culture, students don’t just learn to speak Indonesian—they also gain a deeper appreciation for Indonesia’s rich heritage. Indonesian is taught during a weekly lesson, making language learning both fun and interactive.

To further inspire and motivate our young learners, Drysdale Primary proudly participates in the Victorian Indonesian Language Teachers’ Association’s prestigious “Sayembara Lisan” – an Indonesian speaking competition. This exciting event encourages students to showcase their speaking skills, build confidence, and connect with peers who share a passion for language learning.
